What better way to get students excited about symmetry while celebrate the coming of winter than with snowflakes?
Snowflakes are a wonderful way to explore symmetry. Snowflakes typically represent radial symmetry and are an excellent classroom decoration that students can be proud of.
For my Grade 1/2 class, I demonstrated how to make our own snowflakes. I let each student choose their own template to cut out on white paper, we then glued the snowflakes onto coloured paper for a wonderful visual effect.
